WHAT IS EL ROI?
El Roi means ‘the God who sees me’ … God sees you; God knows who you are; God knows whose you are.
El Roi is a pilot, network-led young adults retreat being held at The Tops Conference Centre on Friday, 17 – Sunday ,19 January 2025.
Kicking the year off with a bang, the heart of this retreat is to renew, refresh, and rediscover all that Jesus has in store for us. In keeping with the ethos of churches of Christ, our aim is to empower and cultivate our churches for their unique contexts. If our kids are our future, young adults are the next-in-line leaders, pioneers, pastors, elders and missionaries. It’s time we start preparing this generation for who God is shaping them to be!
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The El Roi program will offer an intentional retreat space to take a moment to get away and know God more deeply.
The program will be spacious, with morning and night sessions punctuated by relaxing and entertaining activities during the day, leaving plenty of space for networking and meeting other young people walking a similar journey.
At this retreat, we will unpack common experiences of many young adults today:
- Processing the new and rapid changes of adult life, realising: “I’m not a kid anymore, but I don’t feel like an adult yet?”
- Juggling study, work, and moving out of home;
- The grief of years missed during COVID;
- Navigating relationships, finances, and community/church.
In all of this, we find ourselves asking: “Who am I? Am I seen?”

Who: Young adults and their friends from churches in the CCNSWACT network who are looking to go deeper in their faith and find companions for this journey.
