About Us
The churches of Christ in NSW and ACT (CCNSWACT) consists of a network of more than 60 churches that seek to be committed to the person and ways of Jesus, seeking to embody his ministry of restoration of all creation. We have around 4,000 people in NSW and ACT who are part of this network. Our Network Resource Team work directly with the leaders of this network – strengthening the pastoral and governance leaders, supporting churches through training and development, and encouraging the ongoing growth of a vibrant, interdependent group of churches who participate in God’s work in their communities.
About The Role
The Chaplain to Fresh Hope Communities Services provides pastoral support and spiritual care to residents, their families, and staff, whilst working collaboratively with the Fresh Hope Care Communities Team to provide holistic care. The chaplain is, therefore, responsible for the day-to-day oversight of pastoral practice.

- An understanding of personal and spiritual formation
- Communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to inspire hope and bring encouragement
- An understanding of aged care chaplaincy
- Perceiving an individual’s spiritual needs
- Being sensitive to the needs of a person as they progress through their life stages
- High spiritual integrity and a heart to serve in God’s Kingdom
- Personal alignment with the values and mission of churches of Christ in NSW
- Highly effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including moderate computer skills
About You
We are interested in hearing from you if you have:
- Qualifications in chaplaincy and/or theological qualifications (Minimum diploma level)
- Aged Care Chaplaincy Experience (desirable)
- Experience in providing chaplaincy or pastoral care services (Minimum 2-5 years)
- Possess intermediate-level computer skills using Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Highly developed problem-solving, decision making, and negotiation skills
- Consent to us carrying out a National Police Check on you
- Possess a current Working with Children Check, or ability to acquire one
- Possess Creating Safe Spaces Certificate, or a willingness to obtain
- Preferred, but not essential, COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters
- High-level communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in an organisational setting
- Current Drivers Licence
