Position Title: Youth & Young Adults Pastor

Job Description
The position is the equivalent of 5 days paid employment, with a measure of flexibility regarding work time. Qualified persons seeking part-time employment are also invited to apply.
- This position includes the following tasks in the area of Youth:
- Discipling and mentoring of youth in the Church’s care
- Planning and implementing Church-based youth programs and lessons
- Partnering with other churches to provide extended opportunities for youth
- Providing school holiday activities
- Seeking opportunities for youth to attend camps and other events
- Building rapport with the parents
- Facilitation of leadership development and equipping of youth
- Participating each week in Sunday morning worship
- Advertising youth events through social media, updating social media platforms and website
Program-wise this involves running Friday night youth group for Year 6 and up, seeking to develop it further as a vibrant, growing opportunity for evangelism, discipleship and outreach.
On Sundays it involves responsibility for our Year 6 and up growth group, which meets for approximately 45 minutes on Sunday mornings during the second part of the main worship service.
Ministry in local schools can be explored as opportunities present themselves.
The Young Adults Ministry is a pioneer position. It involves the establishment and direction of a Young Adults Ministry, in order to facilitate spiritual growth, connectedness, friendships, and outreach opportunities to other young adults.
Depending on giftedness, opportunities for service in worship, music and preaching are available.
A Successful applicant will need to:
- Be a keen evangelical Christian with a strong commitment to God, His Word and the Gospel
- Have experience with children and youth
- Possess good people skills, organisation skills, communication skills and leadership abilities
- Have a passion for reaching and discipling youth for Jesus Christ and for ministering to young adults
- Hold a current Working With Children Check
- Be a permanent resident of Australia
- Report to the Senior Pastor
- Complete Creating Safe Spaces training upon employment
- Preference given to candidates with formal Bible and ministry training
- Preference also give to candidates with musical ability
Salary is subject to qualifications and experience and contains a large non-taxable component allowed to Christian Ministers.
