This week Conference President Emily Drough announced to our network that Daz Farrell has informed Conference Executive that he will not renew his contract as Executive Ministry Director with churches of Christ in NSW & ACT.
Emily communicated to our network of churches, entities, and partners the following:
With sadness, I share the news that Daz Farrell has informed Conference Executive that he will not renew his contract as Executive Ministry Director with churches of Christ in NSW & ACT.
Daz recently shared with Conference Executive that the evolving complexity and demands of this season have led him to this decision. He will conclude his role at the end of May.
I want to honour Daz’s leadership of our network as Executive Ministry Director since November 2020 and his role as part of the Network Resource Team over the past decade.
During his term, Daz has brought incredible energy to his role – leading with dedication and discernment, spiritual insight and relational authenticity.
He has consistently called our leaders and churches to the highest vision of God’s desire for restoration, championed the health of leaders through sabbaticals, and been instrumental in working with ACOM and state leaders towards one national college.
He has strengthened the role and voice of women, honoured our Indigenous brothers and sisters and advocated for greater influence of our multi-ethnic churches.
He has reoriented our network to engage with our DNA through the network-led and affirmed Ethos and to walk with purpose in the future through the ‘working’ vision.
Daz’s commitment to unity with the wider body of Christ and his passion and work in championing the flourishing of our churches provide a firm foundation for the ongoing work of Conference Executive and the Network Resource Team on behalf of the churches of Christ in NSW & ACT.
Please join me in praying for Daz and his family as they seek God’s direction for the next season.
During this transition the Network Resource Team will continue its work of supporting churches and their leadership and conducting regional engagements around the ‘working’ vision.
Conference Executive has appointed Anne Simpson to provide interim executive leadership during this transition period.
Further communications will be provided as Conference Executive plan for the recruitment of a new leader for churches of Christ in NSW & ACT.
