A few weeks ago, the boards overseeing our network and its entities got together for the annual ‘All Aboard Dinner’ for some fun and connection to celebrate our network’s impact this year.
On Friday night, 11 August, Conference Executive (the governing body of churches of Christ) and the boards of Fresh Hope Communities, ACOM and the Property Trust gathered at Maestria Restaurant, in Rhodes.
It was a laid-back evening hosted by the Network Resourcing Team, filled with food, conversation, communion, some speeches, and a few competitive rounds of trivia.
While these board members carry niche and demanding responsibilities for our entities, the All Aboard Dinner is a moment set aside in the year to glimpse how God is using them together to empower His Kingdom work across our states.
Initiated by Conference President Victor Tee last year, this event is becoming a core part of strengthening the cohesion and camaraderie between our network’s parts.
Kirryn Zerna, a Fresh Hope Communities board member, reflected on the evening,
At the end of the night, Kym Dixon, from the Network Resourcing Team, led the members into a sacred moment of quiet communion, gathered around a small table, each member holding bread dipped in wine. As they prayed together, there was a deep sense amongst the group of their ‘oneness’ in Christ.
This dinner coincided with the opening of nominations for Conference Executive and Property Trust board positions. If you know someone who could share great experience in pastoral, financial, or governance areas with our network and would be interested in joining one of these boards, head here to learn more.
