After Fresh Hope Care’s participation in a Health Generation event focusing on mental health of leaders in Aged Care, the team thanked Fresh Hope Care by donating a $500 voucher.

A few months prior to this, Fresh Hope Care’s Executive General Manager, Lynn Bailey had put out a call to all residential care staff seeking expressions of interest from anyone willing to provide support in the event that a site experienced a COVID-19 outbreak.

“While we have been fortunate and we haven’t had to implement our COVID-19 surge workforce, we have been very impressed by the number of staff who selflessly put up their hand to help. We received the most expressions of interest from the staff at Green Hills, so I thought this voucher was the perfect opportunity to pass on our appreciation to them”, said Lynn.

The team at Green Hills decided to use their voucher to put on a high tea for all staff and residents. Manager of Residential Services, Stephanie Elliott said, “It’s been a difficult and unpredictable 12 months, not only for our staff, but also for our residents. Of course, not everyone could put up their hand for a variety of reasons, but the fact that so many staff did highlights how strong our community is here. Everyone supports each other.”

Together the Green Hills staff from administration, lifestyle, and catering organised the High Tea.

“It went really well, and everyone enjoyed it. Our residents got a lot of joy out of it. They took the opportunity to celebrate and thank our staff for what they do and what they are willing to do. It was an afternoon of appreciation. On behalf of everyone at Green Hills I would like to thank Health Generation for their donation,” says Stephanie.
