In mid-February, Fresh Hope Mission and Ministry pioneered the ‘Youth Pastors and Leaders Conference’. This was the first event of its kind in some time and it was a privilege to have 30 leaders present over the 3 days.

The theme for this year’s conference was ‘Legacy’. This was chosen to reflect the opportune time for younger youth pastors and leaders to learn from those who had gone before them. It was great to learn from leaders who are further down the track, who had seen kingdom fruit in their ministry, and are still running the race.

This was a powerful time that focused largely on the heart and what it means to passionately love God and therefore relentlessly love young people with the heart of God. Sessions taught about the preservation and flourishing of the heart, and God was able to minister powerfully to those who may have been discouraged and in need of encouragement and inspiration. Keynote speakers were also able to share some of their strategic insights following decades of youth ministry. This was invaluable for many of our younger leaders who are setting out on the journey of ministry. And to be able to stand upon the shoulders of those who have gone before was an exciting vision.

The conference was also able to function as a celebration for all that Youth Vision NSW stands for – bringing together the family of youth leaders outside of youth related events and taking the time to sharpen and hone why we exist and for youth leaders to be built into, in order to build into their youth ministries.

We look forward to this event becoming part of the calendar in years to come and the kingdom fruit that will be birthed from it.
