About Collective
Our Three-Year Cycle
Collective is the annual ‘watering hole’ moment in our network’s year, when ministers, elders, staff, chaplains, and key leaders of our churches of Christ ministries across NSW & ACT converge at Stanwell Tops for two days of connection, conversation, and collaboration.
This event is a dedicated opportunity in our year to connect relationally with each other, attend to our spiritual health as leaders, and strengthen our partnership as a network. We spend two days relishing God’s presence amongst us and affirming our unity and diversity together!
The format of Collective rotates across a three-year cycle:
Year A: Input
A key-note format in which a voice from beyond our network leads us to consider a season-specific theme or topic together to expand and sharpen our collective thinking.
In 2022, Jack Reese led us to ponder the reality of and call to death in the modern church, either through discipleship or diminishment, so that new life may emerge.
Year B: Spiritual Rhythms
A retreat format that enables us to slow down spiritually together, attending to the presence and voice of God amongst us.
In 2023, we gathered to BE still with nature, with community, and with God, allowing Him to centre our togetherness in presence rather than production.
Year C: Collaboration
A forum/conversation format which that invites delegates to spark fruitful conversations for the health and growth of our network.
Three years ago, in 2021 we met online and had conversations Together At The Table to shape our Ethos as a network. This year, Collective 24 presents an opportunity for new collaborative conversations about our future.
