About Collective Gathering

Collective is the annual ‘watering hole’ moment in our network’s year, when ministers, elders, staff, chaplains, and key leaders of churches of Christ ministries converge at Stanwell Tops for two days of connection, conversation, and collaboration.

Held in November, Collective Gathering is a dedicated moment to connect relationally with each other, attend to our spiritual health as leaders, and strengthen our partnership as a network. We spend two days relishing God’s presence amongst us and affirming our unity and diversity together!

Our Three-year Cycle

Collective Gathering rotates its form as an event in a three-year cycle, allowing for multiple expressions of our gathering and inviting us to seek God together with a fresh lens each year.

Year A: Input

A key-note format in which a voice from beyond our network leads us to consider a season-specific theme or topic together to expand and sharpen our collective thinking.

In 2022, Jack Reese led us to ponder the reality of and call to death in the modern church, either through discipleship or diminishment, so that new life may emerge.

Year B: Spiritual Rhythms

A retreat format that enables us to slow down spiritually together, attending to the presence and voice of God amongst us.

In 2023, we gathered to BE still with nature, with community, and with God, allowing Him to centre our togetherness in presence rather than production.

 

 

 

Year C: Collaboration

A forum/conversation format that invites delegates to spark fruitful conversations for the health and growth of our network.

In 2024 we convened conversations that mattered to our churches using the format of Open Space Technology, which allowed us to imagine a flourishing future for our diverse network together.
