Craig Farmer appointed Transitional Executive Ministry Director

11 May 2026

Churches of Christ in NSW & ACT is pleased to announce the appointment of Craig Farmer as Transitional Executive Ministry Director, commencing today, Monday 11 May.

Craig takes on this role alongside his leadership of an Intentional Interim Ministry Team from Partners in Ministry (PIM), supporting the network during an important season of transition, renewal, and preparation for the future.

In his role as Transitional Executive Ministry Director, Craig will provide executive leadership across the network, leading the Network Resource Team and overseeing network ministries.

At the same time, as leader of the Intentional Interim Ministry Team, Craig will guide a timebound consultancy process over 12-18 months, advising Conference Executive in relation to governance, strategy, organisational clarity, and preparation for the appointment of a permanent Director of Ministry.

Craig brings more than two decades of experience in leadership and governance consultancy, gained through a combination of work with Partners in Ministry and his own consultancy, Transform Leaders. His experience spans churches, Christian organisations, and a range of other sectors, with a particular focus on churchbased leadership and organisational health.

Craig also has deep and longstanding involvement within our network, having previously served for 16 years as Senior Pastor of Greenacre (now Liberty) Church of Christ and serving as Chair of Kingsway Care.

In accepting this appointment, Craig said:

“As someone with a lifetime commitment and involvement within churches of Christ, I’m excited to contribute in this capacity and to support the development and impact of our network of churches and partners.”

Conference Executive (the governing board of our network) has engaged Partners in Ministry because of their strong alignment with the values of churches of Christ and their proven experience supporting the health of churches. This season of leadership will be about listening carefully to the needs of the network and developing strategy and healthy systems that will serve our churches well into the future.

We are excited about the season before us under Craig’s leadership, as we continue to engage in the work of restoration, unity, and life together as partnered churches. We believe this will be a time of refreshment and orientation for our network towards being a Christhonouring, Biblical, relevant, vital, contemporary Australian Church that impacts the community by making disciples.
