When we talk about stewarding church resources well, the end goal is not balanced spreadsheets – it’s enabling greater missional capacity. In a cost-of-living crisis, every dollar saved means more impact in our local communities.
Daniel McPhee is a member of Coast Community Church, a church in our network on the Central Coast. Through his leadership of OneBuy (formerly Christian Supply Chain), Dan is helping churches and Christian ministries across Australia reduce everyday operating costs, so they can invest more into ministry and mission.
We interviewed Dan to hear his heart for churches and how OneBuy is serving the wider Body of Christ.

I am passionate about what is possible when we (the Church) work together. One of the things I love about churches of Christ is the value placed on unity. At Coast Community Church, we see this lived out by partnering with other churches and ministries across the Central Coast to love and serve our region together.
This is the heartbeat of my work with OneBuy, which is a group purchasing initiative for churches and Christian organisations. We enable the Body of Christ to purchase together, which in turn strengthens the buying power of each individual church and the Body as a whole. The more churches use this initiative, the more we can provide better pricing, better service, and increasing benefit over time.
Simply put, our unity in purchasing together as churches frees up more resources for mission. That’s what I am passionate about!
Your church can use OneBuy – for free! I am excited that we are now partnering with CCNSWACT. As members, churches can benefit immediately in their everyday operating costs, strengthen the buying power of our 350+ member churches, and invest back into OneBuy and CCNSWACT through small supplier rebates that are received through purchases.
Many of our member churches are seeing significant savings on everyday operating costs, such as electricity, phones and internet, and building maintenance.
It’s making a meaningful difference to their budgets, freeing up funds for ministry.
Over time, churches are also benefiting from better procurement decisions, access to trusted, values‑aligned suppliers, time saved, and greater financial stewardship.
The simplest way to begin is to join for free online: onebuy.org.au/join-free/
There’s no obligation — just a quick registration to access the member portal, explore suppliers, and see what might be helpful for your church. Most churches start with one or two areas and build from there. I’m also always happy to connect – whether over Zoom or a coffee – to chat about how OneBuy might support your context.
My prayer is that this resource will take financial pressure off churches and enable greater mission and ministry!
