Last week Fresh Hope Communities took time to celebrate the year that has been and their incredible staff at the Fresh Hope Communities Awards at the Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney.

Staff from Residential Care Communities, Retirement Communities, The Tops, Greenstead Valley and our Rhodes Office were all represented. The afternoon was also broadcast to all the sites and enjoyed via Teams Watch Parties.

In his opening address, CEO Dan Dwyer shared, “Over the last year you will have heard about our Fresh Hope Communities values—Kindness, Connection, Optimism and Integrity. Today’s awards are an opportunity to celebrate those values in action. They’re also an opportunity to experience connection as a wider staff team and for us, together, to take an optimistic look at the future of Fresh Hope Communities.

He went on to say, “It goes without saying that the challenges we have faced together over the last few years have been seismic. And the ramifications are ongoing.

I wanted to take this opportunity to share my heartfelt thanks for the way in which you’ve consistently contributed to quality care and to hospitality.

Thank you for your commitment. Thank you for your hard work. Thank you for your care. Thank you for your service.”

Raewyn Williams, Chair of the Fresh Hope Communities Board expressed her thanks on behalf of the Board saying, “It’s been incredible and humbling to see the work being done, the quality of the people in these sectors and the impact on individual lives.

At times, I’ve been deeply moved, almost to tears, at what you are able to deliver, day in and day out, even in the challenging season we’re moving through now.”

She continued, “Thank you for the work you do, your extraordinary character and the lives you change.  You, and we as a board, are committed to providing the best possible care, the best possible hospitality and meaningful experiences.

We’re committed to espousing – and living – our values of kindness, connection, optimism, and integrity in all our endeavours. It’s also a heartfelt thanks for carrying that fresh hope that the future is bright, and that the impact Fresh Hope Communities has on lives will continue for many years to come.”

The event was a fantastic celebration with nine awards gifted to individuals and teams in a variety of categories including: Individual Living Our Values Award for Kindness, Optimism, Integrity and Connection, Wellbeing Advocate of the Year, Most Adaptive and Resilient, Best Team Player, Emerging Leader, Exceptional Customer Care, Collaborative Team and finally the Community Contributor Award.

Award winners were gifted their prizes by the twelve sponsors who contributed financially to the event.

Overall, it was a fantastic experience and many staff members are already looking forward to the next Staff Awards in 2023!
