Offering a non-anxious presence

Around 25 chaplains are employed by churches of Christ in NSW & ACT to serve in aged care centres, schools, hospitals, and prisons throughout NSW. These men and women offer a non-anxious presence to people from all walks of life, ages, stages and circumstance. In addition, there are many chaplains who serve in the Defence Forces, Rural Fire Service and SES, who do so as representatives of our network.

“When I walked into the room of that elderly resident and was able to offer words of hope when they thought they had lost everything that gave meaning to their life, I knew I was there in God’s perfect time. As the weeping inmate sat before me in the chapel, proclaiming that they wanted Jesus to be their Lord because of something they had read in a Christian biography a few days before, I stood in awe of the God who reveals Himself in manifold ways. What a privilege it is, and what sacred ground we walk, as we become spectators to the providence of a mighty God … ‘who accomplishes all things according to the counsel of his will’ (Ephesians 1:11).”
