Students from Fresh Hope Navigate & Impart, along with The Tops Interns, join together twice a year at Summer & Winter School. In July, they took on Winter School, a challenging week that focuses on both theoretical and practical learning & development within a community of young adults, who by this stage, are like one big family.
The leaders plan a program that could have them abseiling one moment, having robust discussions about the power of the Gospel the next or taking part in formation groups that provide an opportunity to truly understand who they are and what all this means for them.
Winter School is important because it is a space to grow, to have fun, to connect with family, to allow transformation & restoration and to seek after the Kingdom of God. It’s also hard. It requires the students to bravely step into spaces that they have never been before and know that they may never be the same again, and that’s what makes it all worthwhile.
Here is what Impart student, Bek Ramsay had to say about Winter School 2015:
“Winter School was a truly unforgettable experience!
It was such a blessing to spend time with my Fresh Hope Family with one purpose: to seek after God’s Kingdom and see Christ’s transformational power in our lives. For many of us, it was the beginning of a journey to deepen our identity as a son or daughter and learn what it means to be on mission with Jesus.
It was beautiful to see just how much God’s love works in and through us. He showed me a greater purpose for my life, refreshing my spirit by imparting more of his joy and peace. The Spirit moved, strongholds were broken, people were set free, friendships were strengthened, and lives were changed!” – Bek.
