About this Collection: The Churches of Christ in NSW & ACT Annual Conference Booklets were produced to support the yearly gathering of churches in our network at ‘Conference.’ The Minutes offer a special insight into how decisions reached by conference were made and who was involved.
What’s Important About It? The booklets are a charming record of how our church network grew. The Conference gathering, eagerly looked forward to for a whole year often took place over one week. Friendships were made and renewed amongst fellowship, business decision making and a packed schedule for day and evening. Each booklet has an order of service, images of key speakers and sections covering business decision making, reports on home and foreign missions, Bible school, letters from churches in the field. The earliest minute records were taken by members of Enmore Tabernacle, as that is where Conference originally met each year. These minutes are a fascinating record of what happened from 1895 (the 10th Conference) to 1914 (the 29th Conference). It is within these minutes that on occasion, there is a record of the parallel NSW Sisters’ Conference activities.
